Young and hopeful from Poland

Im a student from Cracow and I have Greek and Latin in my curriculum but Im seeking for additional textbooks. My ambition is to become a translator. One of my favorite books is Anabasis, but I like also Thucydides (actually I`m writing a work about democratic citizen ideal in “Peloponesian War”).

Valete!

Salve Mellite!

Welcome to the site, and good luck.

Hi Mellitus! Welcome to Textkit! Wow, you’re quite ambitious to tackle Greek and Latin. Good luck!

Hi and welcome to Textkit!

Whose Anabasis - Xenophon or Arrian? I enjoy Arrian quite a bit. Xenophon’s good too!

Welcome to Textkit Mellitus!
I hope you find the books you’re looking for here at textkit  , don’t forget to visit the forums though  .

Salve Mellite! Latin & Greek at the same time - my hat’s off to you!

Anabasis - Xenophon.

In fact, in the first year of my studies I started with greek, in the second I continued with greek and started latin. Now Im finishing third year, on which there arent any greek courses - but we have latin. About greek I reached aorists and beginning of “futurum”. Latin exam will be on 15th may and will consist of translating some original text (yay!).

I don`t want to lose my greek abilities, so after summer exams I want to refresh them.

I have to say, that after “process of accustomisation” to greek, latin grammar seemed to be similar and, therefore, a little easier.

Nevertheless, Im just at the start of the very long road... but its giving me satisfaction…
