I’m looking for word pairs that are distinguished by long and short vowels (especially long and short “a” which can be challenging for English speakers 
like
māne, manē, mālus and malus and mālle to prefer) and māter, frāter vs pater are all stressed on the same syllable, stressed long and stressed short vowels!
