Can subj be used after εἴτε without ἄν(not in Homer)? I have this example from Stephanus: εἴτε ρἠματα ὦσιν… p3, line 21
Is this deliberative?
New Testament example: …ἵνα εἴτε γρηγορῶμεν εἴτε καθεύδωμεν ἅμα σὺν αὐτῷ ζήσωμεν.
I assume this is the same as what is talked about in the LSJ article for εἰ:
with SUBJ. after primary tenses, representing a dubitative subj. in the direct question, τὰ ἐκπώματα οὐκ οἶδʼ εἰ Χρυσάντᾳ τουτῳῒ δῶ whether I should give them, X.Cyr.8.4.16: sts. elliptical, ἐς τὰ χρηστήρια ἔπεμπε, εἰ στρατεύηται ἐπὶ τοὺς Πέρσας Hdt.1.75.
Though this isn’t quite an indirect question.
