Χαίρετε,
I’ve come across a practice sentence where I have a question:
You have given the teacher ten minas.
Διδασκάλῳ δέδωκας δέκα μνῶν.
Is the genitive μνῶν here correct? Or should it be an accusative μνᾶς?
Thank you for your inputs!
etcetera

That’s correct:
Διδασκάλῳ δέδωκας δέκα μνᾶς.
From New Testament:
ἔχει δέκα μνᾶς
ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς δέκα μνᾶς
ἀπέστρεψεν τὰ τριάκοντα ἀργύρια
ἔλαβον τὰ τριάκοντα ἀργύρια
Thank you!
Do you understand why the genitive is used?
With δίδωμι, I’m pretty sure it does need to be accusative. It mostly depends on the verb, not the numeral, as the thread subject would imply. For example:
Διδασκάλῳ δέδωκας δέκα μνᾶς, ἀλλ᾿ ἐχρῆν σ᾿ εἴκοσι μνῶν αὐτὸν τιμᾶσθαι.
The genitive? I thought it was accusative plural?
I misread this post my apologies.
