Typing Greek when posting topics here

[reposting as I should have made this a separate topic]

I’m using a Windows computer and when I try to type Greek in a post for this forum, the accents and breathings don’t appear. For example, to type εἰμί in this post, I selected the Greek Polytonic keyboard option and pressed the keys e’imqi but this just put ειμι not εἰμί into my post. So I had to switch to Notepad, type e’imqi to get εἰμί and copy/paste this into my post. Is there a setting somwhere on this forum so that the Windows Greek Polytonic keyboard will work properly?

Thanks! —Mitch

I have been using Keyman for Windows (Keyman for Windows 18.0) for quite a long time and I am happy with it.

I have a related question about typing stuff in the Composer (the user interface) of this Textkit forum. How can I turn off the autocorrect/autostyling feature? I deselected the “smart lists” option in my user preferences and saved the change, but the following behaviors still happen when I type something here:

typing an asterisk starts a bullet list

typing a word that has asterisks appended before and after it causes the word to be styled italic

typing a close parenthesis followed by a colon results in a sad smiley

etc

How can I turn all this bloody stuff off?!?

Thanks! —Mitch

You can easily type on the standard keyboard. This video to set it up might work:

εἶς αὐθις

Thanks for pointing me to the Wikimedia Commons page, the diagram of keyboard layout for typing Greek is helpful.
