I am beginning Unit 25 of Dr. Mastronarde’s Introduction to Attic Greek and am wondering how to pronounce the omicrons in “ὄγδοος?” Neither omicron has the diaeresis above it, so do I just glide one vowel into another?

You can pronounce them separately, o-o. But they often run together (contract) to form a dipthong, ου, ὄγδους.
