Translation Question

I was looking on the Harvard website a while back, they had a science article about stopping light, and i looked at their symbol which said ve ri tas. i looked this up on www.webster.com as this is a good dictionary i found. When i searched it came up with en vino veritas which it said meant in wine there is truth. i am just wondering how that is as there are only three words and i assume one is wine, i assume is vino, and veritas to be truth. any comments will be great. thanks to the people who replied to my frist message as well.
