translation help

Hi, I’m translating some passages from Scritti Politici by the Renaissance humanist Leonardo Bruni. There is a particular phrase that is pretty difficult for me: Sed in explicatione bonorum quam plurima atque maxima huic sorte quadam divina contigerunt. I tend to translate as follows: but, by describing these advantages (or goods), because they are so many and so great, they seem to have been touched by the divine fate. (Actually I’m translating into portuguese). Is there any problem there? Could anyone comment? Thanks.

But in the unfolding of good things how very many and great befell to him by a certain divine fate.
