On the next day a large crowd of women was found by the Romans in a very low valley. 6. These women, very much terrified by Caesar’s arrival, were eager to kill themselves. 7. They also had heard more stories of the crimes of the Roman army. 8. The reputation of those soldiers was not the best. 9. A larger supply of grain was found in the buildings of the foreigners. 10. No one can contend in frequent battles without some danger.

1. Mulieres reliquae ex domiciliis suis fugerunt et se/sese abdiderunt.
2. In Romano imperio plurimi occisi sunt quia servos esse recusaverunt. (In the answer key for this sentence, the subjunctive is used, but the subjunctive hasn’t been taught yet up to this lesson. So as to not confused learners using this book, I think it should be removed. Nor has the word servire been taught.)
