Would anyone be interested in translating some passages of Macbeth into Latin for me? Even Greek would be fine. Basically, if you know the play, it’s the Weyard Sisters lines. I’m working on a production of the play at the moment & would like to experiment with the lines in Latin.
Here’s a sample:
SISTER 1 When shall we three meet againe?
In Thunder, Lightning, or in Raine?
SISTER 2 When the Hurley-burley’s done,
When the Battaile’s lost, and wonne.
SISTER 3 That will be ere the set of Sunne.
SISTER 1 Where the place?
SISTER 2 Vpon the Heath.
SISTER 3 There to meet with Macbeth.
SISTER 1 I come, Gray-Malkin.
SISTER 2 Padock calls.
SISTER 3 Anon.
SISTERS Faire is foule, and foule is faire,
Houer through the fogge and filthie ayre.
SISTER 1 Where hast thou beene, Sister?
SISTER 2 Killing Swine.
SISTER 3 Sister, where thou?
SISTER 1 Look what I have.
SISTER 2 Show me… show me.
SISTER 3 A Drumme…
SISTER 1 a Drumme…
SISTER 3 Macbeth doth come.
SISTERS Faire is foule, and foule is faire,
Houer through the fogge and filthie ayre.
