ὅταν δύο λαγὼς διώκῃς, ἀμφότεροι ἐκφεύγουσιν.

Does the use of “ἐκφεύγουσιν” instead of the dual form mean that the dual is optional?

I’m on Lesson 17 out of 24 and still haven’t encountered the dual, so I assume it’s not very important, but I really have no idea.

The dual is optional and sometimes both the dual and the plural can be used in the same sentence.

λαγώς is plural as well. Dual would have been λαγώ.

My dual thanks to both members of the dynamic duo!
