μὲν δή

This combination has too many meanings which are difficult to discern: in concluding paragraphs in historians like Her or Xen: it means and so, finally, but here: πρῶτον μὲν δὴ ὁ Κῦρος εἶπε τῷ Κυαξάρῃ ὅτι οἶκος αὐτῷ ἐξῃρημένος εἴη ἐν Βαβυλῶνι 8, 5, 17 what does it mean? the dictionaries do not shed any light.

oh ok i think i get itL its μέν …δέ and δή just strengthens μέν
