The aorist of ἀφικνεομαι

Just wondering why the aorist of ἀφικνεομαι does not seem to be augmented?
Eg why is ‘he arrived’ ἀφικετο and not ἠφικετο?

In uerba composita the augment comes after the preverb (here ἀπο- elided) and is in the long ῑ (augmentum temporale).

It is augmented. ἀφι^κνέομαι → ἀφι_κόμην. Like all compound verbs, the augment comes after the preposition (ἀπό - ἱκνέομαι) → (ἀπό + augment + ἱκομην). In this case it just lengthens the iota.
