This is a spinoff on the “posting books thread”, I was wondering, if your could have an official Textkit T-Shirt, what would you want it to say?? And for that matter, if there were T-shirts available to buy on the site would you be interested in buying them.

I’m sure William can correct my cases and grammar, and he would probably be far better than I at composing some great slogans.

I realize that my signature is probably not especially representative of Textkit. But Jeff, who finds this highly amusing, once promised he’d make me such T-shirts. I am still waiting, patiently, for the shirts.

As for the character shirts, if it ever gets that far, we definitely need something along the lines of a ‘NVLLAE CANES’ shirt. I think after almost 2500 posts and learning Latin and Greek to boot, the Bishop deserves a tank-top to show off them pecs.

I do not ‘get’ your signature though. Probably because I am not very familiar with much of the Greek writings.
NVLLAE CANES I would definitley wear, though I’m sure I haven’t the pecs (or delts or lats, for that matter) that our Bishop can boast. (nor the linguistic expertise) Textkit.com: Radically Nonconfigurational is good as well, annis.

I think the headers on the top of the page would make a good design, only without the words describing the pictures. Just the square with a ‘T’ in it and Textkit Greek & Latin Learning Tools and 'A Horse Race’ to the right, with or without all the greek and latin scripts in the back… I think it would work for all the header pictures, too.
I second "Radically Nonconfigurational’.
First I thought it should be something Greek / Latin or written in Greek, but a slogan should be easily understandable and recognisable, and simultaneously inspire the mind or stir curiosity. All that has this slogan, even if the meaning is not what the reader expects, another trump card.
I don’t think the slogan should not convey “nos sumus geeks”. The shirts can also promote - I think that if I sent octave one he would skip around his global classical centre and then we would have other valuable visitors.
I have a few ideas and have also made ones specific to a few of the more idiosyncratic characters on this forum. On the back of each of these shirts should, naturally, be Greek and Latin learning tools and www.textkit.com.
I also put one on that I did last time. I am fond of it but perhaps I am alone!
Cartoon images of characters not only for privacy but cartoons will show up better on a shirt, and there is also the air of comedy which occurs often on this forum.
Perhaps I should have made Teubner neuter (das Buch). Oh well.
In this situation I’d think “grammarian” or some variation on that would work best. In Greek at least it implies a preoccupation with old works, and it also carries a disparaging, or in this case self-deprecating tone.
My family puts up with me being a Geek but if I advertised my Geekiness by wearing a shirt with a Greek slogan on it, I’m afraid they would not walk in the same grocery store aisle as me. I don’t think I’d buy one.
Much as I love textkit, I also would not buy one, because I like plain simple clothing (as in, clothing with no writing or pictures on it) and I would rather spend my limited money on expanding my library than buying a T-shirt. I would rather send a straight-out donation to Textkit (and who knows, I might some day) than have to deal with a T-shirt I would never wear.
I agree with Carola G3, what says ‘adventure’ more than a TextkitGreek and Latin learning tools t-shirt? Maybe, if you give a donation, you can get a free tshirt…
