Subject-Verb Agreement?

“πάντα δι’ αὐτοῦ εγένετο”
“All things were made through him” -John 1:3

It seems to me that πάντα and εγένετο are plural and singular, respectively, shouldn’t they match?
Is this just something about Koine Greek I’m not understanding? Thanks.

Neuter nouns, being collective, take singular verbs in almost every situation.

EDIT: “often being collective”

Thanks Again!
