Study Group for Mounce's Basics of Biblical Greek

I am wondering if anyone is interested in starting/working through Mounce’s Basics of Biblical Greek or another text (and we can move the discussion to a different thread). I have attempted to do this on my own but find the need for some accountability/companionship in this effort. If you know of another place that might be starting something up I’d be interested.

updated 9/3 - I found an online site with support and resources that would walk us through the book. I would still like someone to work with or perhaps willing volunteers to check some answers occasionally.

Thanks,
Jeannine

Mounce’s grammar doesn’t have any exercises to work through. What would your proposed group contribute?

I think she’s talking about the lessons in the workbook.

OK. Very nice. That needs to be mentioned for the sake of anyone who might be interested in joining in. They need to know that they would need to buy the workbook in addition to the grammar.

Thanks.

I think I’m going to start working through the free Nunn book.

Both links you gave are to the key. Can you give a link to the text?

I just looked through Nunn’s book a bit. I really don’t think that would be a very user-friendly way to start Greek. It would be better to use White’s First Greek Book (which also comes with an answer key) or one of the other excellent texts provided here at Textkit.

Once you’ve got the basics of the alphabet and the first couple of noun declensions and maybe the present tense, then you can go into the NT book that you’ve linked above. I just don’t think it is very easy in the beginning, and you’ll get stuck if you don’t have some previous knowledge before going into it.

Just my opinion.
