Spanish translation of Dūrus, Dūra, Dūrum

Hello, I have a question ¿Can the Latin word “dūr(us-um-a)” be translated to the spanish word “difícil” or it has to be the spanish word “duro/a”?

I have found the word Difficilis, so that’s why I ask.

Thanks in advance.

My Spanish is barely enough to order tacos at the excellent Mexican restaurants here in sunny San Diego. So I cannot answer your question. However, as a serious Spanish-speaking student of Latin, you should procure for yourself a good Latin-Spanish (and also Spanish-Latin) dictionary.

See Raimundo de Miguel y de Morante p. 314

Generally speaking, when translating between two languages, you cannot expect a one to one correspondence between words.

Thank you Mr. Bedwere, It was my fault, I didn’t do enough research, thank you for passing me this useful information.

Have a good day

My pleasure! Per ardua ad astra!
