Is there any commentary on this work available? It’s the only bit of early Epic of any substantial length I haven’t read. I don’t know much about it, any thoughts about it?
The only author which anyone seems to refer to is Russo. “Carlo Ferdinando Russo: Hesiodi Scutum. Introduzione, testo critico e commento con traduzione e indici. (Biblioteca di Studi Superiori, ix.) Pp. 224. Florence: La Nuova Italia, 1950.” I have never seen it.
