I am currently studying the subjunctive mood and all the sample sentences use an active indicative verb as the main verb but are other verb forms possible? Is it possible that the main verb can be subjunctive as well?
Yes, for example in Plautus, Menaechmi, 2.3.36
eamus intro ut prandeamus
Here eamus is the main verb.
Textbooks simplify. In reality subordinate clauses with subjunctive don’t even have to depend on a main verb, let alone an indicative one.
