Hello all, I’m Sam, I’m 28, I’ve been studying Latin since I picked it up during the pandemic around 2020, with varying amounts of commitment. I’m interested in the works of Medieval and early modern natural philosophers and mathematicians, and have published a translation of one of Euler’s works, among other things. I’ve gone through LLPSI FR and part of RA, and have read Sermones Romani, Fabulae Syrae, several scientific works, and various novellas (eg. Pugio Bruti). Haven’t spent much time writing or speaking but I’ve recently devoted a lot more effort to it, and also to drilling grammar, which I found helps my reading considerably after what felt like years of plateauing. Currently reading Winnie ille Pu and Caesar DBG, then would like to return to LLPSI RA, and will be starting various novels after, as well as dabbling in Nepos, and the letters of St. Augustine which I have in a nice old hard copy. About 1/4 of the way through Corderius’s Colloquia as well. Big fan of Satura Lanx’s (Irene’s) Litterae Latinae Simplices, listened through twice now. I enjoy reading and pick up whatever book I have nearby, try to give it an hour, and aim for 95%-100% comprehension at this point.
Oh, almost forgot: I’m the “maintainer” (it’s been dead for a couple years) of PyWORDS, a python-based Latin processing toolkit based on Whitaker’s WORDS.
