Dear collegues!
We are young classical philologists of Russia. You know that classical scholarship almost doesn’t exist here. But it was! Between 1850-1917 it brought up many good classicists such as Rostovtzeff, Vasiljev, count Tolstoy etc. The October revolution destroyed all humanities in Russia and Soviet period of our history gave almost nothing. Now there are some persons who try to rehabilitate classical philology in modern Russian society. It’s very hard. I’m 4year student of St.Tikhon’s orthodox university at Moscow, classical department. And the main our difficulty is the lack of books. The libraries in USSR were the real nightmare… So it’s also now. To buy them abroad is impossible for a student since allowance is very small (near 2$). The Textkit is very useful for us. But now we havent’ got even the authors’ books. We are very thankful to all who wants to help us.
Why don’t you post a mailing address (in the latin alphabet, if possible) and your library’s wish list? I’m poor, but I can always scrape together a few dollars for a Russian brother.
Thank you. Gratias ago maximas.

Thank you, brother.
Hope you get to make the humanities seed grow again into Russia
