I often find myself stuck when I don’t understand some case usage etc. I scour the llpsi books and Wheelock’s (both sources in print, so not easy to search). I end up sat here pulling my hair out and then do one of two things: 1) I come here and ask. I often then feel a bit silly (lazy?) when somebody says “the answer is on page bla” and usually adds some helpful advice. 2) I use a search engine and spend some time scouring the known universe, often ending up right here, and then drop onto the answer.
In a lot of forums (fora?) there are often hostile responses to what are considered to be “frequently asked questions”. The thing is, it can save an awful lot of time and frustration just asking here. Sometimes it isn’t all that easy to know what to search for.
So, what is the general feeling here? I mean, forums are for discussing stuff, no? Even silly, repeated questions can fuel debate and learning.
I don’t expect to not have to do any footwork, but if it can save me a lot of time (none of us are getting younger) then it can’t be “wrong”, surely?
BTW, so far, in my time here, I have had nothing but positive responses, so no complaints. I’d just be interested in knowing how folks here feel about this.
Thanks for reading.
Paul.
