Prose Rhythm

Does anyone know of a good introductory work on Greek prose rhythm?

Do you mean what we know about natural speaking prosody or the trickifications of orators?

trickifications of orators. I just need something that defines the basic terminology and discusses the usage of certain rhythms at the end of clausulae

Not an area I’ve looked into much. For online resources the only place to start is the Greek 701 page, Greek Prose Style which among its pages has some good links to rhetorical terminology and a hefty bibliography.

For books Dover’s The Evolution of Greek Prose Style has a section on prose rhythm. I haven’t seen it myself, but the BMCR indicates it does. It’s possible Denniston’s book on prose style might also discuss this, but the table of contents wasn’t clear on this.

Edit: I have to say I’ve never really come across beginning material in this area. It’s possible some of the “Selected Greek Orators” sorts of books in the usual places might have valuable introductions.
