I am having trouble translating a Greek sentence into English. The sentence reads,

οἱ πλέονες συνεβούλευόν μοι ποιεῖν ἃ ἐκεῖνος παρῄνεσεν.

I believe the συνεβούλευόν is the first person imperfect. πλέονες is a comparative, but I cannot figure out what it is comparing. ἃ is either a nominative or accusative neuter relative pronoun. So far I come up with gibberish, “The more (the more what? multitude?) I used to advise to/for/by me to do what he advised.

οἱ πλέονες, nom.pl., should have tipped you off to the fact that συνεβούλευον is here not 1st-person singular but 3rd-person plural. “The majority of people were advising me to do what he urged.” ἃ lit. “(the things) which …”
