So, in lists of responses to “Ut valēs?”, one generally sees adverbs such as {male, optime, bene} me habeō. Is it acceptable to use other adjectives-turned-adverbs such as fesse or laete? Or is there something wrong with using those?
I’ve seen a few other adverbs used in that context: commode, recte, and belle me habeo. Sources in Google Books. I also did a similar search in Google Books using “fesse” and “laete” but didn’t find anything. So it seems that only a certain few adverbs are idiomatic for this type of response.
And then, as you noted, there are the comparatives and superlatives of bene and male, namely melius, peius, optime, pessime.
