On making audiobooks

Salvete, amici!

Last month I made a post asking for a recording of Lhomond’s Epitome Historiae Sacrae; today I had the idea of making myself recordings of my readings (not only of the Epitome, mind), for the use of both myself and fellow students. I know some people in this forum have already made some audiobooks (Bedwere’s ones are quite popular); what should I know before I try to make my own? I thought on uploading them to https://librivox.org/.

Here’s a recording of me saying the Lord’s Prayer:

Bene valete!
Ioannes Sanctae Mariae

Join the LibriVox forum and read the FAQ. When I started, they recommended first to record a section in a collaborative project to become familiar with the process (they welcome exotic pronunciations!). Then you can present your project and ask for assistance for compliance and validation.

Is my pronunciation exotic? I’m not angry, simply curious (and wanting to improve it, of course), hehehe.

Thanks for the advice.

I mean for English recordings, as it is mostly the case on Librivox.

Oh, yes. So if I record English with a brazilian accent, they’ll still accept my recording?

They’ll be absolutely delighted.

Amazing! I’ve sent my admission request to them; hopefully they’ll read it soon. Can I ask for opinions on my recordings here at Textkit too? The more the merrier, is what they say… (Btw, what did you think of my sample? Is it clear? Are the letters said rightly?)

It sounds good to me. You can post your Latin or Greek recordings on Textkit.
