I have recently begun learning Attic Greek using the Reading Greek series by the Joint Association of Classical Teachers.
I am not currently paying for a tutor to help me with this, and I am finding it rather difficult. I wondered if it might help to form a study group.
I think that having other students to chat with would be very handy - not only for things like motiviation and accountability, but even just for a bit of fun.
I’m 27 years old, and am not currently at university; where I live, the scope for joining any groups centered around Classic interests is pretty limited, nevermind an adult class for Attic Greek!
Anyway, if there are any interested parties out there please do let me know - I would like to fire something up with you.
Regards,
Ἀτρεΐδης
P.S. If there are any learned and generous individuals out there that would be happy to assist us neophytes, feel free to get in touch too. The more the merrier!
I recommend the Athenaze text book, It is a great resource. (free pdf: ) and also this quizlet account has study sets that covers everything in both books (https://quizlet.com/Rob_Banks9/sets)

I’m in Australia and also learning Greek using JACT. Depending on what time you were planning on hosting the study group I might be interested in joining also. Cheers.
I would be glad to join, too. I’ve had some Greek before and I play the recordings of Reading Greek in my car and understand a lot of it, particularly in the early chapters. I might be of some help with the restored pronunciation and with the grammar (again, particularly in the early stages).
Just wanted to say I would be interested in an Homeric Greek study group, if one gets started.
Is anybody else interested? Is there a Pharr group currently going?
I joined a couple of study group here around 15 years ago. I didn’t keep up with them, sadly…
I would be interested in knowing about any regularly meeting Homer study groups (ideally voice or video chat). I am always interested in chatting Homer.
