I hope I am not breaking any rules here! I have come across two books that I was going to put on e-bay, but I would really like them to to to someone who would appreciate them, not some dealer.
One is English and is supposed to be the translation of the other which is in Latin. As I don’t speak the latter, I could be completely wrong! So if I give you the titles you can be the best judge:
English:Caesar’s Gallic War translated by the Rev F P Long, Oxford at the Clarendon Press 1911
Latin: Caesaris Opera I
On one of the inner pages it says:
C IVLI Caesaris
Commentariorvm
pars prior qva continentvr
Libri VII de bello gallico cvm a. hirti supplemento… etc (it’s all greek to me)
I think they are old family schoolbooks. If anyone is interested in making a fair offer plus postage (I am in Lancashire, UK) please let me know.
