In honour of the new year I, like many other people, have decided to learn another language (or at least start to do so). New Year’s Resolutions have not historically been my forte but I hope that I can change that with this new shiny thing. I chose to learn Latin in part because my sister learnt it at school and also because I study English Literature and I feel like Latin is a suitably pretentious language to have in my arsenal alongside that.
If anyone has any tips on how you learn I would love to hear them!
Welcome to Textkit! Are you going to teach yourself or take a course? In any case,
Nūlla diēs sine līneā!
Hey there, hafsaelsa! How many langauges do you speak currently, and have you learned another language as an adult?
I’d highly recommend Carla Hurt’s article about learning latin as an independent learner, as well as Justin Armstong’s YouTube channel where he documents his own progress learning latin.
