M&F rogationes

For further reference, should I have created a new topic to post these questions, since they’re aboot the same chief?

**Rex dixit rumores in urbe auditos esse pellendos. Quae (ei) qui audiebant probabant.**Does quae refer to what the king said (an implied uerba) or to the rumors?

What book is this which has been sent to us by our friends with whom we were walking?
quod liber est hoc/id quod ad nos ab amicis nostris quibuscum ambulabamus missum est? … or Quid est hoc/id liber quod…
I wasn’t too sure how a Roman would ask this… and hopefully the rest of the translation is right too. I don’t know, I’m pretty tired.

I think I got all the poetry at the end of the chapter (alot of them were quited different in wheelock’s, and I’m waiting till tonight to do the really long Cicerosentence.) exept:

Ne laudet dignos, laudat Callistratus omnes.
Cui malus est nemo, quis bonus esse potest?

the best I could come up with is
Cal praises all so he doesn’t praise the wort[h]y
to him whom noone is evil (to whom evil is noone) who can be good?

well that one confused my little brain which doesn’t send Pontie it’s books because it thinks Pontie’s are crap.

gratias propter auxilium ante donatis

-Jon

quae can’t refer to the rumores because rumores is masc. it is just a substantive neuter or referring to an implied uerba if you prefer.

modify every neuter adjective/participle/pronoun in this sentence taking into account that liber is masculine and it will be correct.
