I gather that Lucian somewhere recounts the story of Ares and Alectryon and I would like to read it. I found a pointer to Gall. 3, but I can’t figure out that abbreviation. Probably easy for some of you here.

It’s Gallus or in English the “The dream or the Cock” ΟΝΕΙΡΟΣ Η ΑΛΕΚΤΡΥΩΝ.
The Loeb is “Lucian. The Downward Journey or The Tyrant. Zeus Catechized. Zeus Rants. The Dream or The Cock. Prometheus. Icaromenippus or The Sky-man. Timon or The Misanthrope. Charon or The Inspectors. Philosophies for Sale. Translated by A. M. Harmon. Loeb Classical Library 54. Cambridge, MA: Harvard University Press, 1915.”
Bullseye!
Thanks Seneca.
