It's been a long time.

I didn’t expect teaching could make me so busy. Actually I expected I could have more time on Greek if I became a teacher than when I was working for the company. But it turned out the other way. Talking a lot and preparing for the lessons, I get very tired every day so I don’t have the energy for Greek. The only thing that makes me happy is I can talk about physics with much greater audience. I’m looking forward to the summer vacation for the Greek study. See ya all sooner or later.

Reminds me of the movie - I think it’s called Mr. Holland’s Opus, but I won’t swear by it. Anyway, the main character became a music teacher at a high school so that he could have free time to compose music. Another character (a P.E. teacher, I think), said “You became a teacher so you could have free time” and laughed.

Teaching requires hard work and long hours. During the recent teachers’ union semi-strike, a few teachers at large high schools refused to work more than the seven hours they are paid to work. They were not availible to help students at lunchtime or afterschool, they did not do lesson prep work, and they graded no papers or tests, unless they could do these things during classtime. It was their way of saying that they are underpaid for all their hard work, and that they are compelled to do lots of unpaid overtime.

Mingshey, Good to see you back on these boards again.

Hello again Mingshey!!

I was just thinking about you the other day, and wondering where you have been. Good to see you stopped by to say hi. Hopefully after classes are done for the summer we will see more of you round here.

ALSO…I second Jeff’s proposal…I’d love to see an updated picture of your lovely daughter.
