Several times this year I tried to login to Textkit, after a long absence, and found my username+pw combination was rejected. i couldn’t create a new account, because it recognized my email address as “already in use.” I tried emailing Jeff Tirey, as instructed by the site, but apparently he is MIA. Last week bedwere was kind enough to send a note to the site administrators in my behalf, but I didn’t hear from anyone. Today I was finally lucky enough to guess my correct username, and then the “Forgot your password?” function worked properly, and here I am. The site’s provisions for user help, “contact Jeff Tirey” and “contact the Board” (whatever that is) seem to my fumbling self at least to be non-functional. Can anyone enlighten me? (That frustration notwithstanding, I’m delighted to be able to access this great resource once again!)
Hi Randy, we had a discussion about your issue in the admin side of the site, and were looking into it. I’m sorry that it didn’t get taken care of earlier.
Emails to Jeff are generally not going to work.
Thanks, jeidsath. If Jeff is generally out of the picture, administratively, the obvious step would be to update the site appropriately. Just a thought.
At any rate, I’m happy, Randy, to see you back on Textkit. What are you doing these days Greekwise?
Χαῖρε, ὦ Μάρκε, Textkit Zealot! I have been working for several years on a YouTube video project that uses Comenius for purposes of Latin and Greek vocabulary building, taking advantage of the fact that Comenius’s Latin textbooks were translated into ancient Greek. I get voluntarily sidetracked quite a bit, which is why it’s taking so long. If you search on ‘YouTube Randy Gibbons Comenius’, you should be able to find it. (There’s a ‘Speaker’s Introduction’ video in the Introduction playlist - the presentations are organized in topical playlists - that explains what the project is up to.)
