Introduction

Salvete!

Thought I better introduce myself. I attended college about 29-25 years ago. I majored in Russian with minors in classics and linguistics. After babies and crazy family life, I decided to get back into “making myself smarter”. I’ve been studying Greek out of Crosby and Schaeffer’s Intro to Greek. I took an intermediate Greek class at college last semester through their continuing ed program. (Makes it less expensive for “old” people.) We worked at translating Herodotus. I’m also studying Latin and am about 3/4 of the way through Wheelock.

In closing, I will share this Anacreontic poem that I translated recently. I am sharing it because I am not known for a love of poetry, but I enjoyed this one.
