Introduction

Salvete!

I’ve long wanted to learn Latin and read the classics. Along the way, I have collected a number of books - Wheelock’s Latin Grammar, First Year Latin, Latin: Our Living Heritage - but find it frustrating and difficult doing the rote exercises with very dry text. (Apologies to the fine authors, it’s me, not you.) It is with great hope I’ve now found this site just when I think I’ve also found the textbook I’ve been missing - Latin Via Ovid. I looked, but did not see, a Board specifically covering this text and would appreciate guidance if there is a best place to post questions related to LVO.

Hi welcome to Textkit.

There is no specific sub forum on Latin Via Ovid so maybe just post your questions in the Learning Latin board. There are several people here who will be ready to help.

Did you ever look at Lingua Latina Per se Illustrata https://www.hackettpublishing.com/lingua-latina-per-se-illustrata-series? It is an excellent introduction to Latin with lots of text to read. if things dont work out with Latin Via Ovid I would recommend Lingua Latina.
