Greetings everyone. My name is Vladimir, I study greek and lately a little syriac with a special interest in Patristics, Hellenistic and Byzantine texts ( I wouldn’t be honest though had I not mentioned Homer and all the “Classics” ). I am spending much of my day reading basically any text that I come across (Which I guess most of us here do ) but lately I developed a special interest in speaking the language. This obviously has to be done with a partner. Although I have friends with whom I read and some teachers I still visit to talk about the language, translation, or read and comment a text, however, none that I (I stress " I ") know of speaks the language in my country (Romania). I have some techniques by which I try to talk at home, but I would be deeply interested in chatting with anyone in a similar position ( who can read quite sturdy greek but has little experience in speaking fluently ).
