I have been reading TextKit posts for several years so I finally determined to join in order to participate. I have degrees in Classics, and in the past I have been a Classics teacher in schools and at colleges, as well.
My big interest right now is Homer and particularly comparisons of verbatim repetitions in Homeric poetry to similar patters in Sumero-Babylonian poetry. I am working on Sumerian to keep my mind alive and learn a non-alphabetic writing system: It’s tough going but there is on-line support from Dr, Josh and Megan at Digital Hammurabi.
