I am a college student studying Greek at the moment, and I’m starting Latin over the summer. I’m interested mainly in philosophy, history, and religion — with regard to the last, both Greco-Roman polytheism and Christianity. Lately, I’ve been reading some Sappho (for no reason except that it’s beautiful), and part of my reason for making an account is so I can ask for a reference on Aeolic so I can better understand the poetry. I would also appreciate any tips people have on reading lyric poetry in general — I’ve only really read prose before, so I feel a bit intimidated by verse.
