My name is David Marks, in listening to discussions about Bible translations I decided I wanted to learn koine Greek to learn what the text actually says. I am mostly using William Mounce’s Basics of Biblical Greek 3rd edition. I had the opportunity to get it in a kit for a good price (and I read good reviews about it). I chose to do self study since it takes me a longer time to remember things than normal people. A serious car accident caused traumatic brain injury, plus 2 bouts with cancer which means chemo cause chemo brain. That’s my name here DavidHatesChemo. I may, once I really learn koine Greek, retake it in a seminary, when I could keep up with the class. This site appears that it can be helpful to me, as I drag along. The cancer treatment has caused issues with my heart and kidneys, so I do spend time in hospital, will be having upcoming surgeries and other medical treatments. There are times I feel bad so studying is put on hold, so please be patient with me. I really want to learn koine Greek, I have invested a lot in the books for a 2 year course. Thanks.
You’re welcome here. Keep on fighting!
You’re welcome here. Glad to have you with us.
I also welcome you David in your quest to learn Koine Greek. Another resource you might
want to take advantage of is a recent post of mine of actual beginner’s Koine Greek college
courses on YouTube. This could be a great supplement to your new books and it will give you
a familiarity to what you might expect if you take a seminary class in Greek some day.
Even if you only memorize the assigned vocabulary words, you will be ahead of the game and
will build a confidence in reading the New Testament in Greek as a bonus. I wish you success.

P.S. I have one more video to watch in the New Testament Greek 2 course before completing
it and can highly recommend it.
