I’ve always been classics-adjacent: studied ancient and medieval philosophy in undergraduate and in two years of graduate school. I work in IT but am looking forward to one day having a large personal Loeb Classical library and being able to pull random volumes off the shelf and read them in their original language.
To that end, I recently began my journey of learning to read and speak Latin. I’m following the “Dowling method” of some brute memorization plus reading Lingua Latina per se illustrata. Would love to chat with others pursuing that course of study and hear your experiences and any advice you might have.
