Introducing myself

Hello there everyone!

My name is Marvin, I’m from Germany and twenty-one years old. I have been interested in Ancient Greek — and other ancient languages for that matter — for quite a while now and have even studied some Ancient Egyptian. However, as resources for Ancient Egyptian are somewhat scarce and the available literature in Ancient Egyptian not really interesting to me personally, I decided to start learning Ancient Greek instead.

I started learning the language about half a year ago using H&Q rather infamous Greek course but rather quickly found that I was learning a lot of grammatical concepts but too little vocabulary and wasn’t getting enough exposure to actual literature. I, therefore, decided to buy both JACT’s Reading Greek and the Italian version of Athenaze and have learnt much more using those than I did with H&Q. H&Q is a great course, but I personally couldn’t work very well with it.

I’m quite interested in other languages too and have learnt (about) quite a few of them; I can only speak German, English and Swedish at a conversational level, however.

Anyway, I hope this is enough for a brief introduction and I’m looking forward to participating on here!

Welcome to Textkit, Marvin!

XAIPE. Greetings from Kiel.
