The imperfect tense third person active just has a blank “–” in the chart. Does that mean that I just write
the stem or use the regular third person ending, ει?
The chart, for anyone answering.
You have to add the appropriate theme vowel—omicron or epsilon—before the personal endings, as you can see from the chart. Omicron in 1sing&pl and 3pl, epsilon in 2sing&pl and 3sing.
In the impf, 3sing active has no personal ending following the epsilon theme vowel, but it does have an optional nu.
The chart should make it all clear.
May I ask from which book this chart came?
Introduction to Attic Greek By Donald J. Mastronade. But it looks slightly different in the second edition I have. Joel can confirm where he got it from.
