Since the most recent upgrade, SPIonic has not been working on the boards. However, Unicode has started working, so I’ve switched over to writing unicode. Does the followin text show up for you -
Χθονὸς μὲν ?ς τηλυ?ὸν ἥκομεν πέδὸν,
Σκύθην ?ς οἶμον, ἄβατον εἰς ??ημίαν.
You can find out how to get Unicode input in the “Ouside Links” section.
In Opera, the letters that are accented show up only as hollow boxes. I can’t read any of the Greek on this board anymore.
What’s more, while composing a reply the topic review shows funny symbols instead of Greek, and doesn’t have the green board skin.
I’d like to ask, can everyone else read the following okay:
εν τήι Οπέραι, τά μετά τόνου γράμματα εστί κιβωτοί. ουκέτι ούν δύναμαι αναγιγνώσκειν τά ενθάδε 'Ελλήνικα.
It’s not polytonic, but it’d do in a pinch.
Hi,
The greek you typed looks fine.
Part of your problem relates to fonts. Do you have any of these fonts on your computer:
arial unicode ms,
gentium, palatino linotype,
georgia greek,
cardo,
galilee unicode gk,
vusillus old face italic,
Doulos SIL
Failing that, do you have any Unicode fonts on your computer? Finally, is Opera configured to respect the fonts defined by web pages?
The problem with the ‘topic review’ text is understood. We are waiting for Jeff to fix it.
Cordially,
Paul
None of those.

I have Lucida Sans Unicode.
Finally, is Opera configured to respect the fonts defined by web pages?
I didn’t know there’s a way to do that.
Okay, off to look for these other fonts…
Edit to add: it worked - I installed a bunch of them and the polytonic Greek Unicode shows fine now. σφόδρα χάριν σοῖ ἔχω
