I Tatti Library

Does anyone have any idea how difficult Renaissance Latin is?

Harvard’s I Tatti library publish a lot of this (much of it for the first time in modern times I believe).

See http://www.hup.harvard.edu/results-list.php?collection=1145.

Silly question - no offence I don’t mean that harshly - because the variables are extensive. Time, place, style, ability in Latin varies heavily. Some adopt a very classical style (so anyone who can read classical should be at home) others…not so much. Divergences can come from native language effecting the Latinity or even just idiosyncratic quirks depending on author.

Start with something fun like Leonardo Battista Alberti’s Momus. You can’t go wrong.

Thanks for this. I guess I was thinking about a comment I read about medieval Latin being not quite so difficult as classical Latin etc…

But thanks for your guidance.
