Hymnus Europae

saluete omnes

Just discovered this version of the Hymnus EuropaeEst Europa nunc unita
et unita maneat;
una in diversitate
pacem mundi augeat.

Semper regant in Europa
fides et iustitia
et libertas populorum
in maiore patria.

Cives, floreat Europa,
opus magnum vocat vos.
Stellae signa sunt in caelo
aureae, quae iungant nos.

I prefer the original, though - I think Schiller’s poetry is just a little bit better than mr. Roland’s efforts :wink:

I know that this Latin is pretty simple, but I am still highly pleased to be able to read most of it without recourse to any further sources. There were only a couple of words I hadn’t seen before, and my electronic dictionary fixed that in short order. A year’s work (not always summa cum diligentia) has not been in vain, then.

PS - I’m going to steal this song for use on my blog.
