Help With Thucydides Passage

In Thucydides Φουκύδίδης famous work “The Peloponnesian War” he calls it a ‘war like no other’. I am trying to find the quote in Greek - would it be Πόλεμος όπως κανένας άλλος? Victor Hanson wrote a book entitled the same, but he uses the phrase “hoya uk hetera”. https://www.c-span.org/video/?189156-1/a-war-other-peloponnesian-war (3:16)

Is there a place where all of Thucydides original words can be found? He did write in Greek. My dictionary says the word for war is “Πόλεμος”. I wonder what words Hanson is using? I did see some picture of the original texts online, but nothing complete.

Any help appreciated.

Best,
Dave

It’s not an exact quote, but is inspired from 1.23:

τούτου δὲ τοῦ πολέμου μῆκός τε μέγα προύβη, παθήματά τε ξυνηνέχθη γενέσθαι ἐν αὐτῷ τῇ Ἑλλάδι οἷα οὐχ ἕτερα ἐν ἴσῳ χρόνῳ.

(Also, Θουκυδίδης)

κανένας is modern Greek.
Thucydides is talking about the length (μῆκος) and the sufferings (πάθηματα) of the war. οἷα οὐχ ἕτερα, literally “of the sort that not other (of two sets),” only makes sense in context. It’s complicated.

Thanks - what a language! Best, Dave
