Help with some Latin phrases for pronunciation and transcription flash cards

Hi

I have just started reading “Lingua Latina Familia Romana” and I’m hooked!

I want to really get good pronunciation, so I want to make some anki flashcards where I see the text on the front, and then I hear a recording on the back (I have the Scorpio Martinus recordings):

Front:
Say: Rōma in Italiā est.
Back:
[recording]

I also want to write myself some transcription flashcards:

Front:
Write: [recording]
Back:
Rōma in Italiā est.

However, I don’t want any more English on my flashcards than is necessary.

So, to cut a long story short, can anyone tell an absolute beginner how to say “say” (or “read”) and “write” as imperative commands?

Lege! (Read)

Scribe! (Write)

Grātiās tibi agō.

Just to add to what Barry has said: The i in “scrībe” is long (The infinitive is “scrībere”). I thought I’d point this out because you’re concerned with pronunciation specifically.

Have fun with Familia Romana! It is an excellent book.
