Dear All, pls help me to write in a proper Greek two phrases from Manasses’ hand-written text. I lack the patience and knowledge of hand writing.
These 2 phrases contain κάπρος and κάπροί and can be found in p. 122A, Constantini Manassis Breviarium historicum ___. Parisiis: E Typographia Regia, M.DC.LV. 1655. I have a sreenshot but I do not know how to attach it here. If it is possible I appreciate anybody’s e-mail to send this screenshot with boars.
You can use this site to load your images for free and then post a link to them here:
Many thanks!
Here it is: https://s24.postimg.org/s57wbooat/Boars_Manasses.jpg
Latin text is added as well.
I appreciate if someone can translate these phrases into English.
There is a picture for the website as well:

I do not know will it be useful?
You may want to use this more modern book
It’s not exactly the same, but it will be useful.
καὶ θράσος θυμοβάρβαρον ὁ βάρβαρος ἐδεικνυ,
ὡς κάπρος δόρατος αἰχμὴν ὠθῶν ἐν τοῖς ἐγκάτοις.
ὡς δ’ εἰς ταὐτὸ συνῄεσαν Βούλγαροι καὶ Ῥωμαῖοι,
συνέπεσον ὡς λέοντες, ὥσπερ ἀφρισταὶ κάπροι,
The breathing is missing in the book, but it should be there.
That looks like a printed book to me. Here’s my best transcription.
bedwere cross-posted with me, but I notice one or two (very minor) differences between his linked text and this one.
Great! I really appreciated your help as well as bedwere’s.
I have the opportunity to compare. The printed text will be useful as well.
My interest was focused on kapros-boars which were substituted by Medieval Bulgarian translator to goats.
If my paper will be published in Spring in Russia I shall share with you some revelations about 9-12 century’s Greek terms regarding Russian pagan archonts and Scythians totems.
And again many thanks!
