Greetings from Boston

My name is Nicholas, I have joined Textkit to benefit from those who know more than I as well as to help those who may be just starting out. I am a multidisciplinary PhD student at a large research university in Boston area. I started my study of Greek during the pandemic using Dr. Walter Robert’s Complete Course in Ancient Greek. I have since read/reread Book 1 & half of Book 2 of the Iliad as well as portions of Plato’s Apology & Symposium, Aeschylus’ Agamemnon, Herodotus’ Histories, Pindar’s Odes, Aristophanes’ the Clouds, Aristotle’s Nicomanchean Ethics, Xenophon’s Anabasis, Sappho’s Fragments, Campbell’s Lyric Poetry Anthology, Longus Daphne & Chloe, the Gospel According to John among others. I am a somewhat competent Latinist, I like to read Caesar, Cicero, Livy, Virgil, Ovid, Catullus, Horace and friends.

I am currently developing a robust database of resources for the study of Greek and Latin in honor of my teacher, Dr. Walter Roberts, a member of the Textkit community who passed away earlier this year. Any collaboration on that front would be most welcome. I am currently working on the creation of an excel sheet (which can be turned into an anki deck) that will include the most complete review of Greek syntax possible with selections from a wide swath of reference materials. A very complete Morphology/Phonology(complete paradigms, endings analysis etc), Frequency Lexicon arranged by genre, Rhetoric & composition decks are also underway.

I hope to learn from and collaborate with the community,
Nicholas

Welcome to Textkit, Nicholas!
