Greek text of Athanasian Creed

Hi Everyone!

I’ve searched through this forum, the Thesaurus Linguae Graecae and the web in general, but no luck.

Does someone here know how to find the Greek text of this fine ancient creed, which I can find in Latin, but not in Greek - if it exists online.

Philip Schaff speaks in the notes of his English translation of a Greek edition from “Caspari (Vol. III. pp. 263–267)”, but I don’t know how to track this.

all the best!

I was going to mention Schaff. I have a copy of his Creeds in my office, a legacy from my wife’s grandfather, a pastor. I have always meant to copy some of the creeds over into my Greek Bible.

Caspari, I think, is Carl Paul Caspari’s “Ungedruckte, unbeachtete und wenig beachtete Quellen zur Geschichte des Taufsymbols und der Glaubensregel”. I see volumes 1 and 2 on archive.org, but I can’t get to Hathi right now, which I would suspect has v3.

Yes, that was it. Google has it: https://www.google.com/books/edition/Ungedruckte_unbeachtete_und_wenig_beacht/SpdTAAAAcAAJ?hl=en&gl=US

The first of the two translations is nice Greek.

I guess medieval translations of the Latin, judging from the syntax. Any historical information about them?

ἄν

in later Greek, ἄν with relative words is used with INDICATIVE in all tenses, as ὅπου ἂν εἰσεπορεύετο Ev.Marc. 6.56; ὅσʼ ἂν πάσχετε PFay. 136 (iv A. D.); ἔνθʼ ἂν πέφυκεν ἡ ὁλότης εἶναι Phlp. in Ph. 436.19; cf. ἐάν, ὅταν.

How nice! I can see this Caspari was a Norwegian - really cool!

Okay, I think I will succeed from this information in finding the text

For completeness, the Usher version mentioned is in his 1660 De Romanae ecclesiae Symbolo apostolico vetere, on page 26.
